Meet the Team - Kyhala Dunn

Kyhala Dunn is the Safety Manager at Helicraft Australia and a highly experienced commercial pilot with more than 25 years in the aviation industry. Her career has spanned flying operations, aviation logistics, aircraft maintenance support, safety management and customer service, giving her a broad understanding of the industry from both an operational and business perspective.

Holding both Australian and New Zealand Commercial Pilot Licences for Aeroplanes and Helicopters, Kyhala has accumulated more than several thousand flight hours across a diverse range of aircraft including the R22, R44, Bell 206 JetRanger, AS350 Squirrel and AS355 Twin Squirrel. Throughout her career she has undertaken corporate, government and aerial operations across Australia and New Zealand.

One of the highlights of Kyhala's flying career was circumnavigating much of Australia while conducting corporate flying operations for clients in an AS355 Twin Squirrel. The journey involved extensive flight planning, remote area operations and client-focused service across some of the country's most spectacular and challenging environments.

Kyhala has also been involved in firefighting operations supporting Victorian and Tasmanian Government agencies, gaining valuable experience operating in dynamic and demanding environments where safety, professionalism and teamwork are paramount. Combined with her exposure to search and rescue operations, these experiences have reinforced a strong commitment to operational excellence and risk management.

As Safety Manager, Kyhala oversees Helicraft Australia's Safety Management System and works closely with pilots, instructors and operational staff to maintain the highest standards of safety and compliance. Her practical aviation background, combined with strong leadership and interpersonal skills, helps foster a positive safety culture throughout the organisation.
